Rose theatre (Kingston upon Thames) is playing one of the pivotal roles in inaugurating this newly created International Film festival, which aims to give a new platform to everyone who wants to start the film making career or just want to present the most recent film work.
On the 17th of October 2021, Rose theatre, in association with Blue Elephant Films hosted An Evening of Shorts - award-winning short films program, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and the festival organisers.
The following discussion gravitated around some of the main objectives of this festival : to provide support to young and talented people, especially to those from more disadvantage areas; to give everyone an equal opportunity for submitting the work and being judged solely on the merits; to provide some valuable advice from people from the film industry and ultimately to reunite all independent film makers to share their ideas, experiences and up-coming projects.
The festival itself will take place in Kingston upon Thames in June 2022, screening the winning film at various venues in Kingston. The festival is supported by BAFTA award-winning director Mike Newell and Academy Award winning actress Vanessa Redgrave.
